Definition 1: It is the final objective of a campaign, in most cases the conversion translates into sales obtained, however this will depend on the objective that is defined, this can be to get the visitor to respond to the call to action, fill out a form, download content, register for a newsletter or make a purchase.
Definition 2: Conversion is when the recipient of a marketing message performs a desired action. Conversion is a very important metric in the marketing funnel, but it does not always mean a purchase. Conversions can also occur before a sale and are an indicator that a prospect has progressed down the sales funnel.
