The word sale comes from the Latin vendĭta, which means action or effect of selling.
The Royal Spanish Academy defines sale as: "Contract by virtue of which a thing of one's own is transferred to another's domain for the agreed price". In other words, sale is the name given to the series of activities that are carried out with a single purpose, to get the consumer to buy a product or service.
Sales are the number one objective of companies, regardless of the type of service or product they offer. Sales are the means by which companies earn revenue and drive growth in the marketplace; the greater the sales, the greater the growth.
