Stands for Search Engine Marketing. When we talk about SEM we normally refer to paid search engine advertising campaigns, although to be more exact, SEM represents any marketing action on search engines (Google, Yahoo!, Bing, etc.).
Based on the above, SEM can be defined as the actions associated with the research and positioning of a website in a search engine; this with the aim of appearing in the top positions of search results, which ultimately increases visits and ultimately sales.
