In this article, Jordan Belfort, known as The Real Wolf of Wall Street, shares with you the 4 main lessons he learned after years of being in sales and looking for new ways to achieve business success.

When we talk about movies for entrepreneurs, one that is always on the list is "The Wolf of Wall Street" and, if you came to this article, it is because you surely saw it and something in it caught your attention. Despite the eccentric actions of the character, the truth is that there are many lessons that I want to share with you about how, by making small changes in the way you see things, you can achieve your goals.

After leaving my past behind, I dedicated myself to share everything I have learned over the years with entrepreneurs and businessmen, especially how they can use persuasion to constantly surpass their goals. That's why today I want to share with you my 4 main teachings so that you too can achieve everything you set out to do. It's all about making small changes, but with big impact.

"The only thing standing between you and your goals is the story you keep telling yourself about why you can't achieve it."

This phrase can be easily summarized in one word "justifications", or commonly known as "excuses". Have you ever wondered how many things you could accomplish if you focused on "how you can" instead of "why you can't"?

"If you give people a good 'why,' they will find a 'how.'"

Teaching number 2 refers to the difference in roles within the same company and the importance of each function. Management positions are focused on the "Why" i.e. the vision of the company, while the other levels are in charge of the "How" to make that vision come true.

The best way to make sure things happen is to properly communicate the "Why", if your team is convinced of the "Why", it will be easy for them to find the "How".

"Winners use words like 'must' and 'will'."

A change in the mentality with which you face your projects can make a difference, it is not the same to say "I would like to do", "It would be good if...", to think "I am going to do it", "I have to achieve it".

No matter what happened to you in the past, you are not your past, you are the resources and capabilities you gather from it. And that is the basis of all change.

Several falls led me to this last lesson. Despite what you have done in your past, this does not define you as a person. What is really important is what you do from today to vindicate your mistakes and how you use what you have learned to improve yourself and achieve your goals.
